A Stonebriar Community Church Fellowship Class
Marathon Fellowship is a multi-generational group focused on Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and serving others—both at Stonebriar Community Church. and through missions around the world. We meet weekly on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. in B219. Our current teacher is Dr. Stephen Kim, Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary. Previous teachers have included Dr. Stanley Toussaint, Wayne Stiles, and Rhome van Dyck among other guests.

Dr. Stephen Kim continues his series “Ten Landmarks of Israel: Understanding the Old Testament Story”. Drawing from the first chapters of the gospels of Matthew and Luke, he highlights the initial fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dr. Stephen Kim continues his series “Ten Landmarks of Israel: Understanding the Old Testament Story” by teaching on the Davidic Covenant. Drawing from 2 Samuel 7, 1 Chronicles 17, and Psalm 89, he explores God’s promise to David and its enduring significance in Israel’s story and God’s redemptive plan.

United States history, like many countries before us, perfectly illustrates the trends of history. The greatest achievement any nation can leave for its descendants is a heritage based on spiritual values. Ezekiel mentions 3 men who left behind the greatest spiritual heritage ever. A nation whose Christians forget the source of success and prosperity is destined to go into the ash-bin of history, often sooner rather than later. Is that our destiny?

Dr. Stephen Kim concludes his teaching on the sixth Landmark, Israel’s Conquest—Promised Land, tracing Israel’s settlement in Canaan and God’s continued faithfulness. He then introduces the seventh Landmark, Israel’s Compromise—Historical & Prophetic Books, outlining how Israel’s drift from obedience unfolds across these writings and shapes the nation’s future.
