Marathon Fellowship is a multi-generational group focused on Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and serving others—both at Stonebriar Community Church. and through missions around the world. We meet weekly on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. in B219. Our current teacher is Dr. Stephen Kim, Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary. Previous teachers have included Dr. Stanley Toussaint, Wayne Stiles, and Rhome van Dyck among other guests.
Wayne Stiles teaches what the Bible has to say about God’s future Kingdom on earth and how it applies to each of us. Believers should seek first His kingdom and His righteousness–and be His witnesses. Unbelievers should take today’s opportunity to accept Christ.
Wayne Stiles discusses questions about angels, prodigals, women, and the Holy Spirit—from a biblical perspective in this final part of our Q&A sessions.
Wayne Stiles discusses questions about fish, family, foot-washing, prophecy, and our woke world—from a biblical perspective in this third part of our Q&A sessions.
Wayne Stiles teaches from 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 why Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is essential for us. Communion requires us to look backward—at Jesus’ death for our sins. It requires us to look forward—to Jesus’ coming for believers. It requires us to look inward—at our present walk with Jesus.
Scripture: 1 Peter 3:21, with supporting references from Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 16:30-33, Romans 6:3, and Acts 2:38
Wayne Stiles teaches what the Bible says about the ripple effect of baptism in your life. What does baptism really mean biblically? The Great Commission means more than getting wet, but it also means we are developing ourselves spiritually—and also developing others.
Wayne Stiles teaches from Leviticus 26-27 that God’s surprising approach to helping us grow involves giving us His Word and His promise to bless obedience. When we blow it, God’s discipline motivates repentance—so that He may bless His people once again. Ultimately, our security is tied to the certainty of God’s promises.
