Scripture: Miscellaneous passages in the gospels and 1 Peter
Bob Campanella takes us through the gospels showing us a number of “fans of Jesus”, but not true followers. He then takes us back to the apostle, Peter, how he changed through the power of the Holy Spirit demonstrating in 1 Peter the characteristics of a true follower of Christ.
In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus tells us that it is our job to sow. We need to sow the Word of God (the seed). God is responsible for the soil, the heart of the hearer.
We will be taught from Ephesians 1:3-14, that we, as believers, are complete in Jesus Christ. We are so complete that we are blessed by the Father, by the Son and by the Holy Spirit. Since we are so blessed, we need to learn to live that way.
Scripture says a lot about how to live, but what does it say about how to die? As with everything, Jesus is our example. We will learn by examining Jesus’s seven sayings from the cross of Calvary of how we should prepare for our own death.
We will be talking about Bob Campanella’s jail ministry at Tarrant County Jail and how inmates, as well as ourselves, can live a “victorious life” through the power of the Holy Spirit.
